About Minesweeper Solver

Our Mission

Minesweeper Solver is a free browser tool for people who want help reading a board or learning why a move is safe. The project combines a playable Minesweeper board with controls for inspecting and applying solver suggestions. It is intended for practice and learning; players should follow the rules of any competition they enter.

The Engine

The solver uses constraint logic to compare revealed numbers and flags with possible mine placements. When those visible clues establish a safe move, the tool can highlight it for review. A board can also reach a position where several layouts remain consistent, so a guess may be unavoidable. The solver cannot promise that every generated board is solvable without guessing, and its suggestions depend on the accuracy of the board state entered or imported.

Using the Tool

Start with a preset difficulty or configure a custom board within the supported size limits. Reveal cells and use Peek to inspect a suggested move before playing it. Step applies an available move, while Solve and Loop can continue playing while the current position provides moves the solver can choose. If the position is uncertain, review the board and decide whether to make a guess yourself. You can also load a saved board or select a screenshot and correct its detected cells in the preview before importing it.

Open & Free

Join the Community

The interface supports play on desktop and mobile browsers. Solver quality depends on the information on the board, while image recognition can vary with screenshot resolution, grid contrast, and visual theme. Check imported cells before continuing so an incorrect recognition does not lead to a misleading hint. The project aims to make those limits clear and help players understand the reasoning available from the clues they provide.
